From her childhood, Aruna had a dream. She found she had a creative instinct and she nurtured this wherever she was. She has an army background and is an alumnus of All Saints College, Nainital. She pushed her boundaries and opted for an entrepreneurship course at Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi, never taking her eyes off her ultimate goal. In 1988, she took small steps towards the realisation of her dreams and creativity by starting her own garment business venture.

Through the years, she honed her skills in several related areas such as home furnishings, Indian ethnic dresses and fusion garments, Arabian kaftans and resort wear. However, hand embellishments on various types of garments remained her forte. She made strides in the world of fashion, promoting Indian fashion to the global fashionista.

She is now a resounding success, staying true to the words of Norman Vincent Peale ‘People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves, they have the first secret of success.’ She is living proof of that sentiment. She had a dream. She made it come true, proving that there is no substitute for sheer hard work and that nothing succeeds like success.
